Description For CAD ATE Engineer

Google's Hardware Testing Engineering team is seeking a CAD ATE Engineer to join their technical infrastructure team. This role is crucial in ensuring the reliability of Google's custom-designed machines, which form one of the largest computing infrastructures globally. You'll work in R&D labs designing test equipment for prototypes and developing protocols for global team scaling. The position involves close collaboration with design engineers to improve hardware quality and reliability standards.

As a CAD ATE Engineer, you'll be responsible for managing project priorities and deliverables while designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions. The role is integral to Google's Technical Infrastructure team, which builds and maintains the architecture behind all Google's user-facing services. You'll be working with post-silicon testing processes, ATE program development, and hardware team collaboration.

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in ATE tools and methodologies, system debugging, and software development. You'll need to demonstrate expertise in test development, automation, and code review. Responsibilities For CAD ATE Engineer

  • Create software solutions that improve the hardware post-silicon testing process through automation
  • Develop and maintain an ATE program development infrastructure for both production and development environments
  • Propose, design and implement software automation that addresses bottlenecks in post-silicon test flow
  • Work directly with Hardware team on projects - prototype and deploy tools
  • Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback

Requirements For CAD ATE Engineer

Python
Java
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of industry experience with systems and debugging
  • 5 years of experience in ATE tools, flows, and methodologies
  • Experience in ATE test development, from DFT/Design Verification (DV) to ATE
  • Experience in ATE test method library development
  • Proficiency in code and system health, diagnosis and resolution, and software test engineering
  • Understanding of object oriented programming and functional programming
  • Excellent software skills and design practices
