Google Cloud Learning Services (CLS) is seeking a Cloud Data Engineer II to join their Data Products and Insights (DPI) team. This role involves leading data science analytics projects, partnering with cross-functional teams, and building data infrastructure solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience in technical consulting, working with data warehouses, Big Data, and machine learning. They will be responsible for designing and optimizing data architecture, ETL pipelines, and driving high standards in data reliability and governance.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Acting as a technical advisor to solve complex Big Data challenges
  2. Collaborating with data scientists to scale value-creating capabilities
  3. Analyzing and optimizing database environments for Google Cloud Platform
  4. Designing and building data architecture and ETL pipelines
  5. Ensuring data reliability, integrity, and governance

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, 5 years of experience with data processing software and algorithms, and proficiency in languages such as Java, Python, or Go. Experience in technical consulting, data warehousing, and building multi-tier applications with modern web technologies is preferred.

Responsibilities For Cloud Data Engineer II, Learning, Google Cloud

  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to business stakeholders and solve complex Big Data challenges
  • Work closely with data scientists to productionize and scale value-creating capabilities, including data integrations and transformations, model features, and statistical and machine learning models
  • Analyze on-premises and cloud database environments and consult on the optimal design for performance and deployment on Google Cloud Platform
  • Design, build, and optimize the data architecture and extract, transform, and load (ETL) pipelines to make them accessible for Business Data Analysts, Data Scientists, and business users to enable data-driven decision-making
  • Drive the highest standards in data reliability, data integrity, and data governance, enabling accurate, consistent, and trustworthy data sets, business intelligence products, and analyses
