Description For Cloud Engineer, Platform and Infrastructure

Google Cloud is seeking a Cloud Engineer for their Platform and Infrastructure team to guide customers through their cloud journey. As part of the Google Cloud Consulting Professional Services team, you'll help businesses transform and evolve using Google's global network, web-scale data centers, and software infrastructure.

In this role, you'll provide exceptional technical guidance to customers adopting Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services. This includes offering best practices on secure foundational cloud implementations, automated provisioning of infrastructure and applications, and cloud-ready application architectures. You'll ensure customers have the best experience in migrating, building, modernizing, and maintaining applications in GCP.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing domain expertise in cloud platforms and infrastructure
  • Designing and implementing Cloud-based technical architectures
  • Acting as a technical advisor and troubleshooter for customer challenges
  • Creating best practice recommendations, tutorials, and sample code
  • Traveling up to 30% within the region for on-site activities

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience), 4+ years of experience in DevOps and infrastructure automation, and fluency in both English and Spanish. Experience with GCP techniques, containerization, and IT security practices is highly valued.

  • Experience coding in one or more general purpose languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, C or C++) including data structures, algorithms, and software design
  • Ability to communicate in English and Spanish fluently to support client relationship management in this region
