As a Cloud Security Engineer in the Google Cloud Consulting Professional Services team, you will guide customers through their cloud journey, helping businesses thrive using Google's global network, web-scale data centers, and software infrastructure. You'll provide excellent technical guidance to customers adopting Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, offering best practices on secure foundational cloud implementations, automated provisioning, and cloud-ready application architectures. Your role involves high visibility at senior levels of customer organizations, interacting with CIOs, CISOs, CTOs, and GCP senior leadership. You'll work closely with Product Management and Engineering to drive excellence in Google Cloud products and features.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing domain expertise in cloud security and compliance
  • Designing and developing cloud security architectures and solutions
  • Managing stakeholders to deliver consensus and positive customer outcomes
  • Creating best practice recommendations, tutorials, and sample code
  • Traveling up to 30% for in-region meetings and onsite activities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
  • 6 years of experience in secure cloud solutions
  • Experience in cloud enterprise solutions and customer project support
  • Coding skills in languages like Python, Java, Go, C or C++

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with Google Cloud or other cloud environments
  • Knowledge of FedRAMP, PCI, or HIPAA security requirements
  • Expertise in various security domains (e.g., network protocols, web application security, authentication)
  • Understanding of Cloud security principles
