Description For Construction EHS Area Program Manager

Google is seeking a Construction EHS Area Program Manager to lead their Environmental, Health and Safety initiatives for data center construction projects. This role is crucial in ensuring safety standards and program management across multiple locations.

The position offers a competitive compensation package including a base salary range of $139,000-$207,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. As a Program Manager at Google, you'll be responsible for leading complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish, working with various stakeholders to manage project requirements, schedules, and risks.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of program/project management experience, with specific expertise in Data Center Construction Program Management and Construction Safety Management. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is required. Preferred qualifications include Certified Safety Professional certification, 10 years of EHS construction experience, and experience working in operational data centers.

You'll be joining the Data Center team, which designs and operates some of the world's most sophisticated electrical and HVAC systems. The team is known for its diverse, upbeat, and creative culture, committed to building and operating powerful data centers.

Key responsibilities include developing and owning the EHS construction program, ensuring contractor compliance with safety performance expectations, monitoring and advising construction project teams, driving a culture of continuous learning, and liaising with the Construction EHS team for best practices implementation.

Responsibilities For Construction EHS Area Program Manager

  • Lead the development and ownership of the Environmental, Health and Safety Construction (EHS) program for area construction oversight and data collection
  • Ensure that contractors deliver on program safety performance expectations and agreement requirements providing solutions to the issues
  • Monitor, advise and assist the construction project teams to protect people, environment, and ensure compliance
  • Drive culture that embraces a continuous learning approach and aligns with organizational strategies including goals and objectives
  • Liaise with the Construction EHS team to ensure best practices are completely implemented, progress reported, trends and data captured, analyzed and risks mitigated
