Description For CPU Technical Program Manager

Google is seeking a CPU Technical Program Manager to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects in their hardware and software division. This role combines technical expertise with program management to drive CPU/SoC engineering initiatives from conception to commercial launch. The position requires coordinating between various teams including architecture, design, verification, and physical design across multiple geographical locations.

As a Technical Program Manager, you'll be responsible for ensuring smooth program execution, maintaining quality standards, and managing project schedules. You'll need to effectively communicate with cross-functional partners and executives, lead technical discussions, and drive issue resolution. The role demands expertise in modern processor micro-architecture, emulation technologies, and understanding of CPU-SoC integration.

Responsibilities For CPU Technical Program Manager

  • Motivate inter-discipline discussions at the project level. Coordinate among architecture, design, design verification, emulation, and physical design teams
  • Coordinate regular communication meetings at various levels and across multiple geographical locations
  • Host issue triage and resolution meetings at the project level
  • Create and track issues to satisfactory closure
  • Ensure programs are executed at the best level for quality and schedule
  • Motivate or manage program Central Processing Unit-System on a Chip (CPU-SoC) integration for timeliness, quality for pre-silicon and post silicon execution till commercial launch

Requirements For CPU Technical Program Manager

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 Years of experience with Central Processing Unit (CPU)/CPU-Subsystem/System on a Chip (SoC) Engineering or CPU program management
  • 8 years of experience in program management
  • Experience with modern processor micro-architecture, processor design flows, and emulation technologies
  • Experience with the effect of power and thermal constraints (preferred)
  • Experience with industry standard CPU benchmarks (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) Flow (preferred)
  • Knowledge of ARM Instruction Set Architecture (preferred)
