Description For Custom Silicon Operation Product Engineer, Assembly and Test

Google's Devices & Services team is seeking a Custom Silicon Operation Product Engineer to join their innovative hardware development efforts. This role combines technical expertise in semiconductor manufacturing with program management skills to drive yield improvements and new product introductions. The position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge silicon technology while leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with suppliers.

As a Custom Silicon Operation Product Engineer, you'll be responsible for analyzing and improving silicon package level yield, managing excursions, and conducting failure analysis. You'll drive technology readiness during New Product Introduction (NPI) phases and lead early production site qualifications. The role requires strong technical leadership in semiconductor manufacturing processes and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and executives.

The ideal candidate brings at least 5 years of program management experience, with deep knowledge in semiconductor process engineering and yield optimization. They should have a bachelor's degree in a technical field, though an advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Material Engineering is preferred. Experience with SoC and Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC) productization is highly valuable.

Responsibilities For Custom Silicon Operation Product Engineer, Assembly and Test

  • Drive custom silicon package level Yield analysis, Yield monitoring and Yield improvement, excursion management and failure analysis
  • Drive cross-functional efforts for technology and operational readiness during New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • Drive and resolve technical and operational issues of material, process, fixtures and equipment
  • Lead early production site qualifications for NPI
  • Lead Yield and process improvements, development and validation CIP
  • Lead suppliers to establish and validate process capability and performance metrics

Requirements For Custom Silicon Operation Product Engineer, Assembly and Test

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in program management
  • Experience in data analysis using semiconductor production data
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams with technical leadership and executive communication
  • Experience as a Semiconductor Process/Yield and product engineer
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Masters degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Material Engineering (preferred)
  • 15 years of experience in Semiconductor Manufacturing and testing (preferred)
  • Experience with SoC and Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC) productization (preferred)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Excellent communication skills
