Google Cloud is seeking a Customer Engineer specializing in AI Infrastructure to join their team. This role combines deep technical expertise in cloud computing and artificial intelligence with customer-facing responsibilities. As a Customer Engineer, you'll serve as a technical expert and trusted advisor for Google customers, helping them design, deploy, and optimize AI solutions using cutting-edge hardware and software.

The position requires extensive experience with cloud native architecture and infrastructure, particularly focusing on GPU, accelerators (including FPGAs and ASICs), and Google Tensor Processing Units (TPU). You'll work at the intersection of sales, product management, and engineering, ensuring customers maximize value from their AI investments while helping accelerate GCP AI Infrastructure business growth.

Key responsibilities include architecting AI solutions, demonstrating Google Cloud's differentiated features, optimizing model performance, and influencing product strategy based on enterprise customer requirements. The ideal candidate should have strong experience with high-performance computing, model training, and performance optimization.

  • Be a trusted advisor to customers, helping them understand and incorporate AI accelerators into their overall cloud strategy
  • Demonstrate how Google Cloud is differentiated, highlighting the power of accelerators
  • Build repeatable assets to enable other customers and internal teams
  • Influence Google Cloud strategy at the intersection of infrastructure and AI/ML
  • Be responsible for Business and Workload acceleration on AI Infrastructure products and solutions for GCP

Requirements For Customer Engineer, AI Infrastructure, Google Cloud

Kubernetes
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role
  • 5 years of experience with cloud infrastructure
  • Experience with high-performance computing (HPC) environments
  • Experience training and fine-tuning large models with accelerators
  • Experience with performance profiling tools
  • Experience designing/architecting large-scale infrastructure farms for specialist AI use cases
  • Experience with running MLPerf benchmarks, distributed training and optimizing performance versus costs
