Description For Customer Engineer, Federal Civilian, Public Sector

Google Public Sector is seeking a Customer Engineer to help drive the adoption and growth of Google Cloud Platform among federal civilian customers. This role combines technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities, requiring 6 years of cloud native architecture experience. You'll work directly with technical teams to demonstrate Google Cloud's capabilities, design architectures, and support proof-of-concepts.

The position offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $122,000-$180,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. As a Customer Engineer, you'll be instrumental in helping public sector institutions accelerate their digital transformations, working specifically with United States government and educational institutions.

Key responsibilities include conducting technical discovery, architecting solutions, leading technical projects, and delivering product messaging through various mediums. You'll need to be comfortable with cloud native architectures, have experience presenting to technical stakeholders and executive leaders, and understand the unique needs of Federal Civilian customers.

The ideal candidate will have experience with application migration to cloud platforms, security concepts, and knowledge of federal regulatory frameworks like FedRAMP and FISMA. Responsibilities For Customer Engineer, Federal Civilian, Public Sector

  • Identify business and technical requirements, conduct full technical discovery, and architect client solutions to meet gathered requirements
  • Lead technical projects, technology advocacy, support bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and the coordination of supporting technical resources
  • Deliver product messaging for the Google Cloud Platform by using whiteboard and slide presentations, product demonstrations, white papers, trial management, and Request for Information (RFI) response documents
  • Drive recommendations on integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure to implement a complete solution providing best practice advice to customers to optimize Google Cloud platform effectiveness
  • Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other events as needed

Requirements For Customer Engineer, Federal Civilian, Public Sector

Kubernetes
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 6 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role
  • Experience in engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders
  • Experience in promoting technology solutions to the Federal Civilian customers
