Google Cloud is seeking a Customer Engineer I to join their Small/Medium Businesses team, focusing on cybersecurity solutions. This role combines technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities, requiring 4 years of experience in cloud native architecture. The position offers a competitive base salary range of $99,000-$145,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

As a Customer Engineer, you'll serve as a cyber-security subject matter expert, working closely with technical Sales teams to showcase Google Cloud's security solutions. Your responsibilities will include understanding customer business and technical requirements, developing creative cloud solutions, engaging in proofs of concepts, and troubleshooting technical challenges related to cyber-security.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in cybersecurity, including experience with threat detection, malware intelligence, cloud security posture management, and Identity and Access Management systems. You'll need excellent communication skills to engage with technical stakeholders and executive leaders, as well as the ability to build and maintain customer relationships.

Responsibilities For Customer Engineer I, Small/Medium Businesses, Google Cloud

  • Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key customer technical objections, and develop the strategy to resolve technical blockers
  • Share Security knowledge to support the technical relationship with customers, including technology advocacy, supporting bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work
  • Work with Google Cloud products to demonstrate and prototype integrations in customer and partner environments
  • Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure to implement a complete solution on Google Cloud
  • Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as needed, acting as a public advocate for Google Cloud

Kubernetes
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 4 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role
