Google Public Sector is seeking a Customer Engineer II to join their Federal Civilian team. This role combines technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities, focusing on helping US public sector institutions accelerate their digital transformations. The position requires deep knowledge of cloud native architecture and experience working with Federal Civilian customers.

As a Customer Engineer, you'll work closely with Technical Sales teams to showcase Google Cloud's capabilities to clients. Your responsibilities will include technical discovery, solution architecture, and leading proof-of-concept work. You'll need to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical stakeholders and executive leaders.

The role offers competitive compensation including a base salary range of $122,000-$180,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. This is a hybrid position with options for both remote and in-office work from locations in Reston, VA or Washington D.C.

Key technical requirements include experience with cloud native architecture, API management, microservice frameworks, PaaS, and container orchestration systems. Knowledge of Geospatial Information Systems, particularly Google Earth Engine, and understanding of regulatory frameworks like FedRAMP or FISMA are highly valued.

Responsibilities For Customer Engineer II, Federal Civilian, Public Sector

  • Identify business and technical requirements, conduct full technical discovery, and architect client solutions to meet gathered requirements
  • Lead technical projects, technology advocacy, support bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and the coordination of supporting technical resources
  • Deliver product messaging for the Google Cloud Platform by using whiteboard and slide presentations, product demonstrations, white papers, trial management, and Request for Information (RFI) response documents
  • Drive recommendations on integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure to implement a complete solution providing best practice advice to customers to optimize Google Cloud platform effectiveness
  • Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other events as needed

Kubernetes
