Google Public Sector is seeking a Customer Engineer II to join their Federal Civilian team. This role combines technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities, focusing on helping US public sector institutions accelerate their digital transformations. The position requires 6 years of cloud native architecture experience and involves architecting solutions, leading technical projects, and delivering product messaging for Google Cloud Platform.

As a Customer Engineer, you'll work closely with Technical Sales teams to showcase Google Cloud's capabilities to clients. Your responsibilities will include conducting technical discovery, architecting solutions, leading POCs, and providing strategic recommendations on enterprise architectures. The role requires strong communication skills as you'll be presenting to both technical stakeholders and executive leaders.

The ideal candidate should have experience with cloud native architectures, API management, and container orchestration systems. Knowledge of FedRAMP or FISMA compliance frameworks and experience working with US Federal Civilian agencies, particularly the Department of Interior and USDA, is highly valued. This position offers a competitive compensation package including a base salary range of $122,000-$180,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. The role supports a hybrid work model with locations in Washington D.C. and Boulder, CO. Responsibilities For Customer Engineer II, Federal Civilian, Public Sector

  • Identify business and technical requirements, conduct full technical discovery, and architect client solutions to meet gathered requirements
  • Lead technical projects, technology advocacy, support bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and the coordination of supporting technical resources
  • Deliver product messaging for the Google Cloud Platform by using whiteboard and slide presentations, product demonstrations, white papers, trial management, and Request for Information (RFI) response documents
  • Drive recommendations on integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure
  • Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other events as needed
