Google Cloud is seeking a Customer Engineer to join their Customer Developing organization. This role combines technical expertise with business acumen, focusing on helping customers implement enterprise cloud strategies. The position requires 10 years of cloud native architecture experience and 5 years of cloud infrastructure experience.

As a Customer Engineer, you'll lead cross-functional teams to guide customers through their cloud journey - from design and planning to implementation and governance. You'll serve as a hybrid technical and business advisor, directing conversations and execution strategies that align technical solutions with business objectives. The role involves close collaboration with Value Engineering to articulate the total value of technical solutions and overall business partnership with Google Cloud.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in high-performance computing (HPC), experience with performance profiling tools, and expertise in designing large-scale infrastructure farms. You'll be responsible for building partner-specific solutions, managing technical relationships, and providing strategic recommendations on enterprise architectures and integration strategies.

Responsibilities For Customer Engineer, Infrastructure, Google Cloud

  • Build partner specific, go-to-market solutions to reduce business cycles and drive partner business
  • Own the technical relationship with partners, empowering them to drive successful pilot or proof of concept
  • Build trusted advisory relationships and make recommendations on integration strategies
  • Identify customer priorities, technical objections, and design strategies encompassing the entire Google ecosystem

Requirements For Customer Engineer, Infrastructure, Google Cloud

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role
  • 5 years of experience with cloud infrastructure
  • Experience with high-performance computing (HPC) environments and contributions to open-source projects related to infrastructure
  • Experience with performance profiling tools
  • Experience designing/architecting large-scale infrastructure farms
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and teamwork skills
