Description For Customer Engineer, Security, Google Cloud Security Sales

Google Cloud is seeking a Customer Engineer specializing in Security to join their Cloud Security Sales team. This role combines technical expertise in cloud security with customer-facing responsibilities, making it ideal for professionals who excel in both technical implementation and relationship management.

The position involves working closely with Google Cloud's Security Sales teams to identify and qualify business opportunities, particularly focusing on technical solutions and compliance requirements. You'll be instrumental in helping customers understand and implement Google Cloud's security products through demonstrations, proofs-of-concept, and technical consultations.

As a Customer Engineer, you'll leverage your extensive knowledge of cybersecurity solutions, including SIEM/SOAR, Threat Intelligence, and Cloud Security platforms. The role requires a strong background in technical sales engineering, with at least 6 years of experience in security or cloud native environments. Your expertise in implementing security solutions for enterprises and understanding of cloud architecture across SAAS, PAAS, and IAAS will be crucial.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics, along with relevant cloud or security certifications. You should be comfortable with large-scale distributed systems and stay current with machine learning and big data technologies.

Responsibilities For Customer Engineer, Security, Google Cloud Security Sales

  • Partner closely with SMB and Field Sales Engineering, Inside Sales, and Sales Development teams
  • Drive technical aspects of solutions, including customer meetings, product demonstrations, and executive briefings
  • Leverage in-depth knowledge of Google Cloud Security products to build integrations, proofs-of-concept, and demos
  • Effectively convey the value proposition of Google Cloud Security solutions
  • Travel to customer sites, conferences, and relevant events to represent technical capabilities

Requirements For Customer Engineer, Security, Google Cloud Security Sales

Kubernetes
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 6 years of experience in a technical sales engineering role in security or cloud native environments
  • Experience in cybersecurity technical solutions: SIEM/SOAR (EDR, XDR), Threat Intelligence, Cloud Security
  • Experience in selling security consulting services
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics (preferred)
  • Cloud or Security industry certifications (preferred)
  • Knowledge of product and solution market trends in the cybersecurity industry
  • Understanding of solution architecture within web and mobile environments
  • Familiarity with architecture and operational aspects of large scale distributed systems
