Google Cloud is seeking a Customer Engineer specializing in Security to join their dynamic team. This role sits at the intersection of technical expertise and sales, requiring a deep understanding of cybersecurity solutions and cloud technologies. The position demands 6 years of experience in technical sales engineering within security or cloud environments.

As a Customer Engineer, you'll work closely with Small and Medium Business (SMB) teams, Field Sales Engineering, and Inside Sales teams to identify and qualify technical opportunities. Your role involves being the technical backbone of the sales process, conducting product demonstrations, and managing executive briefings to effectively communicate Google Cloud Security's value proposition.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of cybersecurity technical solutions, including SIEM/SOAR, Threat Intelligence, and Cloud Security components. You'll be responsible for building integrations, creating proofs-of-concept, and delivering compelling demonstrations to customers and partners. Your expertise in solution architecture within web and mobile environments, along with understanding of large-scale distributed systems, will be crucial.

Responsibilities For Customer Engineer, Security, Google Cloud Security Sales

  • Partner closely with SMB and Field Sales Engineering, Inside Sales, and Sales Development teams to identify and technically qualify opportunities
  • Drive technical aspects of solutions, including customer meetings, product demonstrations, and executive briefings
  • Leverage in-depth knowledge of Google Cloud Security products to build integrations, proofs-of-concept, and compelling demos
  • Effectively convey the value proposition of Google Cloud Security solutions through presentations and product demonstrations
  • Travel to customer sites, conferences, and relevant events to represent technical capabilities

Requirements For Customer Engineer, Security, Google Cloud Security Sales

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 6 years of experience in a technical sales engineering role in security or cloud native environments
  • Experience in cybersecurity technical solutions: SIEM/SOAR (EDR, XDR), Threat Intelligence, Cloud Security
  • Experience in selling security consulting services
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics (preferred)
  • Cloud or Security industry certifications (preferred)
  • Knowledge of product and solution market trends in the cybersecurity industry
  • Understanding of solution architecture within web and mobile environments
  • Familiarity with architecture and operational aspects of large scale distributed systems
