As a Data Center Electrical Protection and Controls Engineer, you'll be part of the Technical Infrastructure team responsible for keeping Google's networks running optimally. Responsibilities For Data Center Electrical Protection and Controls Engineer

  • Provide technical guidance on electrical issues to data center construction teams
  • Provide expert technical support to the operations team for large-scale and high voltage/medium voltage electrical power systems
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert in configuration, commissioning, and troubleshooting of complex programmable logic controller and protection relay configurations
  • Provide technical feedback and support for Product/Design teams to resolve fleet wide design issues
  • Develop and maintain functional relationships across multidisciplinary teams and provide training support

Requirements For Data Center Electrical Protection and Controls Engineer

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in programming, commissioning, and operation of mission critical facilities, electrical utilities, and industrial/facility engineering
  • Knowledge of electrical theory and equipment including protective relays, network switches, data concentrators, HMI software packages
  • Experience with 61850 GOOSE/MMS protocols, Switchgear, transformers and generators, digital analog controls
