The Data Center team at Google designs and operates some of the most sophisticated electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and HVAC systems in the world. As a Data Center Facilities Engineer, you will operate, monitor, and support physical facilities conditions for Google's data centers. Your responsibilities include operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical equipment in a data center environment, ensuring safety rules and regulations are followed, providing root cause analysis, coordinating vendor support, and developing a good understanding of infrastructure design and operation.
Key responsibilities:
- Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment in data centers

- Coordinate vendor support and assist in project implementation
- Develop understanding of infrastructure design and conduct training
Required qualifications:
- Associate's degree, trade school certification, or equivalent experience
- 4 years of experience in operating, maintaining, or troubleshooting electrical systems
- 2 years of Electrical experience in an industrial or commercial environment
- Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends and holidays
- Fluency in English and Japanese
Preferred qualifications:
- Certification related to data center facilities (e.g., CDCP, CDFOM, or AOS)
- Experience with critical electrical systems (generators, UPS systems, ATS/STS units)
- Understanding of complex mission-critical facility environments
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, control, and generator systems
