Google's Data Center team is seeking a Facilities Mechanical Engineer to join their world-class operations. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with strategic thinking in maintaining and optimizing critical data center infrastructure. You'll be part of a team that designs and operates some of the most sophisticated electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and HVAC systems globally.

As a Facilities Mechanical Engineer, you'll be responsible for operating, monitoring, and supporting physical facilities conditions, including heating and cooling systems, power supply, generators, UPS systems, and electrical distribution. Responsibilities For Data Center Facilities Mechanical Engineer (English, Japanese)

  • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment in a data center environment
  • Provide root cause analysis, recovery, prevention actions for service failure
  • Prepare and execute operation procedures, respond to work requests
  • Coordinate vendor support in repairs and replacements
  • Develop understanding of infrastructure design and sequence of operation

Requirements For Data Center Facilities Mechanical Engineer (English, Japanese)

Linux
  • Associate's degree, trade school certification, or other certified training in a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience in operating, maintaining, or troubleshooting HVAC and mechanical systems of industrial facilities
  • Ability to work non-standard working hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to communicate in English and Japanese fluently
  • Certification in data center facilities (preferred)
  • Experience in mission-critical facility environments (preferred)
  • Experience in performing maintenance on critical mechanical systems (preferred)
  • Understanding of multiple disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, control, and generator systems (preferred)
