Description For Data Center Operations and Maintenance Manager

Google's Data Center Operations and Maintenance Manager role is a critical position within the Technical Infrastructure team, responsible for leading sophisticated facility operations. The role combines technical expertise with leadership, overseeing electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems in mission-critical environments. Responsibilities For Data Center Operations and Maintenance Manager

  • Plan and execute campus operational budgets, expense forecasting, and manage established budgets
  • Set strategy and plan deployments across multiple sites
  • Lead efforts to integrate Google-wide strategy and execution with internal and external business partners
  • Create strategy for cost effective operations, focused on total cost of ownership
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and innovation in approaching traditional data center and emergent challenges

Requirements For Data Center Operations and Maintenance Manager

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience in critical facilities management including facility, technical, and team management
  • Experience managing a mission critical facilities portfolio
  • Ability to communicate in French and English fluently
  • Master's degree in an Engineering field (preferred)
  • Experience as a Facilities Manager or Chief Engineer at a data center or related environment
  • Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems in a data center environment
  • Effective people management and leadership skills
