Google's Hardware Operations team is seeking a Data Center Operations Manager to lead their night shift operations in Pryor, OK. This role is crucial in managing the physical infrastructure that powers Google's services. You'll lead a team of Data Center Technicians, overseeing server hardware installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance operations.
The position requires a strong technical background with 5 years of experience in computing infrastructure, networking, or hardware systems, plus 2 years of team management experience. You'll be responsible for managing complex installations, troubleshooting, and maintaining hardware servers and components, while ensuring your team follows proper protocols and safety guidelines.
As a manager, you'll oversee day-to-day operations, implement projects, and facilitate shift handovers. Responsibilities For Data Center Operations Manager (Night Shift)
- Oversee day-to-day management of teams within data center operations
- Work together to identify and resolve problems and create solutions for our global computing and network architecture
- Manage the implementation of projects within the team
- Communicate priorities and facilitate hand-off of operations to following shift leads
- Hire, coach and develop a team while achieving business goals
- Demonstrate the ability to implement and motivate the safety culture at the site
- Ensure data center-related priorities are consistent with company objectives
Requirements For Data Center Operations Manager (Night Shift)
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience
- 5 years of experience in computing infrastructure, networking, operating systems, or hardware
- 2 years of experience managing technical teams, vendor or agreement management and delivery
- Ability to work non-standard hours and differing rotations/shifts
- Experience working in data center environments preferred
- Experience in installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting hardware servers preferred
- Experience with initiating and executing initiatives in a global environment preferred
- Ability to lead and improve Environmental Health and Safety initiatives preferred
- Excellent data gathering, analysis and presentation skills preferred
