Google's Hardware Operations team seeks a Data Center Operations Manager for the night shift to lead and manage a team of Data Center Technicians in Pryor, OK. This role is crucial in maintaining Google's state-of-the-art physical infrastructure that powers its search technology and other services.
The position requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills, with responsibilities including overseeing server hardware installations, managing complex troubleshooting, and ensuring smooth operations of Google's Linux clusters. Responsibilities For Data Center Operations Manager (Night Shift)
- Oversee day-to-day management of teams within data center operations
- Work together to identify and resolve problems and create solutions for our global computing and network architecture
- Manage the implementation of projects within the team
- Communicate priorities and facilitate hand-off of operations to following shift leads
- Hire, coach and develop a team while achieving business goals
- Demonstrate the ability to implement and motivate the safety culture at the site
- Ensure data center-related priorities are consistent with company objectives
Requirements For Data Center Operations Manager (Night Shift)
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience
- 5 years of experience in computing infrastructure, networking, operating systems, or hardware
- 2 years of experience managing technical teams, vendor or agreement management and delivery
- Ability to work non-standard hours and differing rotations/shifts
- Experience working in data center environments preferred
- Experience in installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting hardware servers preferred
- Experience with initiating and executing initiatives in a global environment preferred
- Excellent data gathering, analysis and presentation skills preferred
