Description For Data Center Security Manager

Google is seeking a Data Center Security Manager to oversee security operations at their data center facilities. This role is crucial in maintaining the security infrastructure that supports Google's vast technical operations. The position involves managing security vendors, budgeting for security services, and implementing security policies across the facility. You'll be responsible for incident management, critical event response, and coordination with public safety authorities.

The role sits within Google's Technical Infrastructure team, which is fundamental to keeping Google's products running smoothly. This team takes pride in being the engineers' engineers, maintaining and developing data centers, and building next-generation Google platforms. They ensure networks operate at peak performance to deliver the best user experience.

As the Security Manager, you'll lead compliance programs, manage risk, and handle security incidents at the data center campus. The role requires strong leadership skills, security expertise, and the ability to manage both technical and non-technical teams. You'll be responsible for budget management, vendor relationships, and ensuring security measures align with company policies and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in security technologies, including CCTV and access control systems, along with experience in managing security operations centers. Responsibilities For Data Center Security Manager

  • Be responsible for the compliance, security and risk management program at the Data Center campus or related infrastructure which includes managing site security incidents, escalations, guard contract management, and all other physical security related issues
  • Provide after-hours on-call management support and participate in emergent, large-scale event response or crisis management when needed
  • Implement established compliance processes aligned with CSRM policies, standards, guidelines, and relevant legal or regulatory requirements
  • Manage the security related costs through budget, forecasting and invoice control for the assigned campus, assist management with financial analysis and input to financial decisions for security requirements

Requirements For Data Center Security Manager

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience leading operational or project based work and tasks, and coordinating or managing resources for data center locations
  • 5 years of experience managing, sourcing, or procuring business resources and vendors
  • Experience with security technologies, including CCTV, access control, incident management systems, and security operations centers
  • Experience managing technical and non-technical groups to drive business outcomes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
