Google is seeking a Data Center Security Manager to oversee security operations at their data center facilities. This role combines technical security expertise with vendor management and operational leadership. You'll be responsible for implementing security policies, managing security vendors, and ensuring the safety of Google's critical infrastructure.

The position sits within Google's Technical Infrastructure team, which is fundamental to keeping Google's services running smoothly. As a Data Center Security Manager, you'll play a crucial role in protecting Google's data center assets while working with cutting-edge technology and security systems.

Key responsibilities include developing security standards, conducting risk assessments, managing security vendor relationships, and coordinating with public safety organizations. You'll also oversee security aspects of new data center construction projects and manage budgets for security services.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of experience in security resource management, along with expertise in modern security technologies like CCTV and access control systems. A bachelor's degree is required, while a master's in Criminal Justice or related field is preferred. Strong communication skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Responsibilities For Data Center Security Manager

  • Develop and implement corporate security standards, policies, and practices to make continual improvements and increase the effectiveness of the security program
  • Manage awareness training, risk assessments, and monitor local and regional challenges
  • Review, audit, and enforce security design elements for all new data center construction on location
  • Partner and consult with facility and operations management. Liaise with public safety to ensure excellent community relations and training synergies
  • Be responsible for management of security vendors, providing guard staffing, and managing the budget for all security services on location
  • Assist in coordination of security services to support planned and unplanned operations

Requirements For Data Center Security Manager

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience managing, sourcing, or procuring business resources and vendors
  • Experience with security technologies including CCTV, access control, incident management systems, and security operations centers
  • Master's degree in Criminal Justice or a related field (preferred)
  • Experience in data center and security system elements of design (preferred)
  • Experience in conducting investigations including criminal, human resources, and safety incidents (preferred)
  • Experience in working on active construction sites and providing safety/security countermeasures (preferred)
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment (preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (preferred)
