Description For Data Center Security Manager

Google is seeking a Data Center Security Manager to oversee security operations at their Skien, Norway facility. This role combines technical security expertise with operational management, requiring 5 years of experience in both operational leadership and vendor management. The position involves managing security vendors, budgeting for security services, and implementing security policies across the data center.

As part of Google's Technical Infrastructure team, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining the backbone of Google's services. The role demands expertise in security technologies including CCTV and access control systems, while also requiring strong leadership skills to manage both technical and non-technical teams. You'll be responsible for compliance, security, and risk management programs, handling everything from incident response to guard contract management.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred in Criminal Justice or related field) and experience with security system design, particularly in data center environments. You'll need to be comfortable working on active construction sites, managing security incidents, and liaising with public safety officials. Responsibilities For Data Center Security Manager

  • Be responsible for the compliance, security and risk management program at the Data Center campus or related infrastructure which includes managing site security incidents, escalations, guard contract management, and all other physical security related issues
  • Provide after-hours on-call management support and participate in emergent, large-scale event response or crisis management when needed
  • Implement established compliance processes aligned with Compliance, Security and Risk Management (CSRM) policies, standards, guidelines, and relevant legal or regulatory requirements
  • Manage the security related costs through budget, forecasting and invoice control for the assigned campus, assist management with financial analysis and input to financial decisions for security requirements

Requirements For Data Center Security Manager

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience leading operational or project based work and tasks, and coordinating or managing resources for data center locations
  • 5 years of experience managing, sourcing, or procuring business resources and vendors
  • Experience with security technologies, including CCTV, access control, incident management systems, and security operations centers
  • Experience managing technical and non-technical groups to drive business outcomes
