Description For Data Center Security Manager

Google is seeking a Data Center Security Manager to oversee security operations at their data center facilities. This role is crucial in maintaining the safety and security of Google's technical infrastructure. The position involves managing security vendors, implementing security policies, and handling critical incidents. As part of Google's Technical Infrastructure team, you'll work behind the scenes to keep Google's vast network of data centers running smoothly and securely.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in security management, with experience in both physical and technical security measures. You'll be responsible for developing security standards, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance across the facility. The role requires excellent leadership skills to manage vendor relationships and coordinate with various stakeholders, including public safety officials.

Responsibilities For Data Center Security Manager

  • Develop and implement corporate security standards, policies, and practices to make continual improvements
  • Manage awareness training, risk assessments, and monitor local and regional challenges
  • Review, audit, and enforce security design elements for all new data center construction on location
  • Partner and consult with facility and operations management
  • Liaise with public safety to ensure excellent community relations and training synergies
  • Manage security vendors, providing guard staffing, and managing the budget for all security services
  • Assist in coordination of security services to support planned and unplanned operations

Requirements For Data Center Security Manager

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience managing, sourcing, or procuring business resources and vendors
  • Experience with security technologies including CCTV, access control, incident management systems, and security operations centers
  • Master's degree in Criminal Justice or a related field (preferred)
  • Experience in data center and security system elements of design (preferred)
  • Experience in conducting investigations including criminal, human resources, and safety incidents (preferred)
  • Experience in working on active construction sites and providing safety/security countermeasures (preferred)
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
