Google Cloud is seeking a Data Scientist to join their Product team focusing on Cloud Managed Infrastructure. This role combines technical expertise in data analysis with business impact, working at one of the world's leading tech companies. The ideal candidate will bring strong statistical and analytical capabilities, with at least 3 years of experience in data analysis and mining. You'll work with various tools including SQL, R, and Python to derive meaningful insights that drive product decisions. The role involves close collaboration with Software Engineers and Product Managers to evaluate product features and their impact on business efficiency.

Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining KPIs, conducting complex data analysis, and translating findings into actionable business insights. You'll need to be comfortable working with large datasets, developing data pipelines, and having excellent statistical skills covering areas from descriptive statistics to experiment design.

Responsibilities For Data Scientist, Product, Cloud Managed Infrastructure

  • Perform analysis by utilizing relevant tools (e.g., SQL, R, Python)
  • Report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to support business reviews with cross-functional/organizational leadership team
  • Translate analysis results to business insights or product improvement opportunities
  • Provide analytical insights and recommendations to influence product feature development decisions
  • Conduct feasibility analyses with Software Engineers and Product Managers
  • Identify patterns and analyze how existing products are used by customers
  • Report unusual/creative behavior and provide quantitative perspective to product owners

Requirements For Data Scientist, Product, Cloud Managed Infrastructure

Python
  • Master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3 years of experience with statistical data analysis, data mining, and querying (e.g., SQL)
  • 1 year of experience managing analytical projects
  • Experience in scripting, statistical analysis (R, Stata, SPSS, SAS)
  • Experience in developing data pipelines and working with large volumes of data
  • Experience with cloud products
  • Excellent statistical skills, including descriptive statistics, experiment design, inference, statistical decision making
