Description For Data Scientist, Product, Growth and Notifications

Google's Growth and Notifications Team (GaNT) Analytics is seeking a Data Scientist to join their dynamic team focused on shaping the future of growth and notifications across Google's major products including YouTube, Photos, and Maps. This role combines data analysis, strategic thinking, and product insight to drive better decision-making across the organization.

As a Data Scientist on the team, you'll work at the intersection of data and product development, analyzing user behavior and product performance to optimize growth and engagement across the Google ecosystem. You'll tackle challenging questions about notification satisfaction, user experience optimization, and engagement drivers.

The position requires strong analytical skills, with expertise in statistical analysis, data mining, and programming (Python/R/SQL). You'll collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations. Responsibilities For Data Scientist, Product, Growth and Notifications

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand their business needs, formulate and complete end-to-end analysis, and share results and recommendations
  • Own the process of gathering, extracting, and compiling data across sources via relevant tools (e.g., SQL, R, Python)
  • Develop and automate reports, iteratively build and prototype dashboards to provide insights at scale
  • Define and evaluate experiments within the team and across Google with collaborators

Requirements For Data Scientist, Product, Growth and Notifications

Python
  • Master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 1 year of experience with statistical data analysis, data mining, and querying (e.g., SQL)
  • 1 year of experience with coding in Python or R
  • Experience with statistical data analysis and experimental design
  • Experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, statistical modeling and creating dashboards
