Description For Data Scientist, Product Intern, MS, Summer 2025

Google is seeking a Data Scientist, Product Intern for Summer 2025. This role is part of the internship program and requires candidates to be located in the United States for the duration of the internship. The ideal candidate should be in their penultimate academic year, pursuing a Master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, biostatistics, physics, applied mathematics, operations research, or economics.

As a Data Scientist product intern, you will provide quantitative analysis, market expertise, and strategic perspective to partners throughout the organization. You'll serve as an analytics expert, using data to help make better decisions and weave stories with meaningful insights. Key responsibilities include conducting data analysis for business or product recommendations, delivering effective presentations to stakeholders, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and helping Google focus on key decisions to improve products and services.

The role requires experience working with statistical packages (e.g., R, SAS, Stata, MATLAB) and articulating product questions, pulling data from datasets (SQL), and using statistics to arrive at answers. Preferred qualifications include the ability to translate analysis results into business recommendations, interest in working with data and metrics, and excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Google offers a competitive salary range of $85,000-$109,000 for this full-time position, with additional factors such as job-related skills, experience, and location determining the final offer.   • Conduct data analysis to make business or product recommendations (i.e., cost-benefit, invest-divest, forecasting, impact analysis)
  • Deliver effective presentations of findings and recommendations to multiple levels of stakeholders, creating visual displays of quantitative information
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand their business needs, formulate and complete analysis that includes data gathering, analysis, ongoing scaled deliverables and presentations
  • Help Google to focus on key decisions to improve products and services
