In the Data Scientist - Research role you work all across the organization to help shape Google's business and technical strategies by processing, analyzing, and interpreting huge data sets. Using analytical excellence and statistical methods, you mine through data to identify opportunities for Google and our clients to operate more efficiently, from enhancing advertising efficacy to network infrastructure optimization to studying user behavior. You will work with Engineers, Product Managers, Sales Associates, and Marketing teams to adjust Google's practices according to your findings. Identifying the problem is only half the job; you also figure out the solution.

This internship is intended for students in their penultimate academic year, who are pursuing a PhD degree program in a quantitative discipline (e.g., statistics, biostatistics, physics, applied mathematics, operations research, economics). Participation in the internship program requires that you are located in the United States for the duration of the internship program. Google is a global company and, in order to facilitate efficient collaboration and communication globally, English proficiency is a requirement for this internship program.
