Google Cloud Developer Relations is seeking a Developer Advocate specializing in Python advocacy to join their Modern Development advocacy team. This role combines technical expertise with community engagement, focusing on empowering developers across application lifecycles. The position involves creating technical content, delivering presentations, and being a bridge between the developer community and Google's product teams.
As a Developer Advocate, you'll work at the intersection of community management and technical advocacy, collaborating with developers both at conferences and online. Your responsibilities include writing sample code, troubleshooting developer issues, and providing valuable feedback to product teams to improve Google's offerings. The role specifically focuses on Python development within Google Cloud, covering areas such as Runtimes, DevOps, and AI-assisted SDLC.
The ideal candidate brings 3+ years of technical experience, strong communication skills, and a passion for developer communities. The role offers competitive compensation, including a base salary range of $122,000-$178,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities For Developer Advocate, Cloud Python Advocacy
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage product engagement and identify user needs
- Attend or facilitate conferences and events to gain and share insights on user experience and technologies
- Lead strategic developer programs and act as an authority in the domain
- Contribute input and feedback on products or programs, and represent the interests of partners to internal stakeholders
- Create engaging content, including blog posts, tutorials, videos, and demos
Requirements For Developer Advocate, Cloud Python Advocacy
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 3 years of work experience in a technical role (e.g., software development, solutions consultant, etc.) or equivalent technical experience
- Experience creating and delivering technical presentations, workshops, and training sessions
- Experience in software community engagement
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Passion for developer communities
