Google is seeking a Developer Relations Engineer to join their Android and Play Games team in Bengaluru. This role sits at the intersection of game development and Android platform optimization, working directly with game developers and OEMs across the APAC region. As a Developer Relations Engineer, you'll be instrumental in optimizing gaming experiences for millions of users, collaborating with game developers to implement new product integrations on flagship Android devices. The role requires expertise in game development, particularly with C++/C# and low-level graphics programming, combined with strong technical problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities For Developer Relations Engineer, Android and Play, Games

  • Work with game developers, Android OEMs and game engines in India and APAC regions to support product integrations on flagship Android devices
  • Optimize AA/AAA game titles, resolve engineering problems with Google technologies
  • Advocate for game developers internally and influence Google developer product strategy
  • Drive engineering-focused workshops and meetings with developers to optimize gaming experience
  • Work with Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, Business Development, PR and other cross-functional teams

Requirements For Developer Relations Engineer, Android and Play, Games

Java
Python
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience with game development in established development tools or custom game engines using C,C++, or C#
  • Experience in game development or developer relations
  • Experience in system performance analysis
  • Experience with Android tooling such as RenderDoc, Perfetto, Frame Pacing API, SurfaceFlinger, GFXReconstruct and Android GPU Inspector (preferred)
  • Experience coding in low level Graphics/GPU with DirectX12, Vulkan or Metal (preferred)
