Description For Developer Relations Engineer, Application Ecosystem and Runtimes

Google's Developer Relations team seeks a Developer Relations Engineer to bridge the gap between developers and Google's technology platforms. This role combines community management with technical advocacy, requiring both deep technical expertise and excellent communication skills. You'll work within the Cloud Developer Relations team, specifically in the Modern Development advocacy team, focusing on Runtimes, DevOps, and AI-assisted SDLC.

The position involves creating and delivering technical content, managing developer communities, and representing developer interests internally at Google. You'll collaborate with product teams to improve Google's offerings by providing developer feedback and testing new features. The role spans multiple technology platforms including Chrome, Android, App Engine, and Google Apps APIs.

As a Developer Relations Engineer, you'll be responsible for fostering developer communities, creating educational content, and driving strategic programs. You'll need to be hands-on with coding, capable of writing sample code and debugging, while also being comfortable presenting at conferences and engaging with developers online.

The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of technical experience, strong communication skills, and a passion for developer communities. You'll work from one of several US locations, contributing to Google's mission of empowering developers to build, innovate, and scale with confidence. Responsibilities For Developer Relations Engineer, Application Ecosystem and Runtimes

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage product engagement and identify user needs
  • Attend or facilitate conferences and events to gain and share insights on user experience and technologies
  • Lead strategic developer programs and act as an authority in the domain
  • Contribute input and feedback on products or programs, and represent the interests of partners to internal stakeholders
  • Create engaging content, including blog posts, tutorials, videos, and demos
