Description For Developer Relations Engineer, Earth Engine

Google is seeking a Developer Relations Engineer for their Earth Engine team within the Geo division. This role combines technical expertise with developer advocacy, requiring someone who can bridge the gap between Google's advanced geospatial technologies and the developer community. The position involves working with cutting-edge satellite image processing, machine learning applications in geospatial data, and sustainability initiatives.

The role is particularly focused on supporting REDD+ Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) partnerships, requiring expertise in both technical implementation and community engagement. You'll be working with Google Earth Engine, conducting technical training, and contributing to scientific modeling efforts that impact sustainability and carbon activities measurement.

As a Developer Relations Engineer, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product Management, and Program Management. The role requires a unique blend of technical skills (JavaScript, Python, satellite image processing) and soft skills (training, community management, partnership handling).

The position offers competitive compensation ($122,000-$178,000) plus additional benefits including bonus and equity. You'll be part of Google's Geo team, which serves over a billion users monthly through various mapping products. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about combining technology with environmental impact, particularly in the realm of geospatial AI and sustainability.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of technical experience, strong programming skills, and experience in developer relations or advocacy. Knowledge of geospatial machine learning, AI, and REDD+ frameworks would be particularly valuable. You'll be working from either Mountain View, CA or New York, NY, contributing to Google's mission of organizing the world's information while making a significant impact on environmental sustainability efforts.
