Distinguished Engineer, Business Intelligence

As a Distinguished Engineer for Business Intelligence at Google Cloud, you will be the preeminent technical authority responsible for defining and driving the future of data experiences. You will shape the technical vision and strategy for Looker and its integration within Google Cloud's broader data and analytics ecosystem, focusing on cutting-edge technologies like generative AI, advanced analytics, data visualization, and modern data architectures.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Defining and shaping the technical vision and strategy for Business Intelligence (BI) and Looker within Google Cloud.
2. Serving as the principal technical advisor for BI and Looker, guiding architectural decisions and strategic partnerships.
3. Fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence within the BI and Looker engineering organization.
4. Leading the integration of generative AI and other advanced technologies into BI and Looker.
5. Driving the evolution of Looker's semantic modeling capabilities.

You will collaborate closely with product leadership to define product roadmaps, mentor and develop senior technical talent, and advocate for innovation across the organization. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of how businesses leverage data to drive insights and make better decisions, impacting users worldwide.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in software engineering, database processing engines, analytics, and business intelligence. Strong skills in cloud environments (GCP), data modeling, and generative AI are preferred. Exceptional communication, collaboration, and influencing skills are essential for success in this role.
