Google's Demand and Capacity Planning tooling organization seeks a Distinguished Engineer to lead technical strategy for infrastructure resource management. This critical role involves developing and implementing strategies for managing demand and capacity across Machine Learning, Cloud, and Standard Fleets. Responsibilities For Distinguished Engineer, Demand and Capacity Planning

  • Define the technical outlook for automating and unifying demand and capacity planning across all of Google's infrastructure, including ML, Cloud, and Standard Fleets
  • Partner with Google's ML, Cloud, and Standard Fleet teams to drive innovations in demand and capacity planning
  • Influence the development of advanced forecasting models and algorithms
  • Develop a structure of other technical leads in the area

Requirements For Distinguished Engineer, Demand and Capacity Planning

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 15 years of software engineering experience building and working with systems in a technology organization
  • 10 years of experience in applying forecasting, optimization, and supply chain management to solve problems
  • Experience in developing and implementing large-scale demand and capacity planning systems
  • Experience with enterprise programs and cloud technologies
  • Experience with Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes and tooling
  • Experience with inter-team and cross-functional leadership
  • Technical expertise in forecasting, optimization, and supply chain management
  • Understanding of technical trends and ability to adapt to new technologies
