As a Distinguished Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in shaping the technical direction of GDC, working with cutting-edge technologies in cloud computing, AI/ML, and distributed systems.

The position offers an attractive compensation package, including a competitive base salary range of $323,000-$465,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. Responsibilities For Distinguished Engineer, Google Distributed Cloud
- Define the long-term technical strategy, mentor a team of experts, and collaborate with leadership to ensure alignment between technology and business goals
- Work on problems that span building and optimizing the infrastructure stack to serve emerging data, AI/ML as well as legacy enterprise workloads
- Drive convergence of different stacks, ensuring operational and production accuracy in design, development and operation processes
- Help programs to improve software quality and engineering productivity
- Help scale the infrastructure and processes as we onboard more customers and existing customers deploy GDC more widely
Requirements For Distinguished Engineer, Google Distributed Cloud
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, similar field, or equivalent practical experience
- 15 years of experience in software engineering, building and working with systems in the technology organization
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or similar field (preferred)
- 15 years of experience with building enterprise grade and highly scalable platforms, on-premise infrastructure, and cloud technologies (preferred)
- Experience with building and optimizing infrastructure for data and ML/AI workloads
- Strong communicator, highly collaborative, and relationship building skills
- Ability to build vision, drive technical roadmap, and design with a broader engineering organization
