Description For Engineering Analyst, AdSpam Trust and Safety

Google's Trust & Safety team is seeking an Engineering Analyst to join their AdSpam division in Dublin, Ireland. This role combines technical expertise with user protection, focusing on fighting abuse and fraud across Google's advertising platforms. As an Engineering Analyst, you'll work with large datasets to identify trends, conduct fraud investigations, and develop anti-abuse solutions.

The position requires collaboration with engineering teams to enhance ad traffic infrastructure and defense systems. You'll apply advanced statistical methods to analyze abuse impact, perform fraud investigations, and drive anti-abuse experiments. The role involves working with various data sources to identify product vulnerabilities and implement scalable solutions.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in data analysis and project management who wants to make a significant impact on internet safety. You'll be part of Google's global team of abuse-fighting experts, working across 40+ languages to protect users, advertisers, and publishers.

Responsibilities For Engineering Analyst, AdSpam Trust and Safety

  • Partner with Engineering teams to improve Google's ad traffic infrastructure, defense systems, and workflows
  • Apply advanced statistical methods to large complex datasets to analyze impact of abuse on third Party traffic (DV3, CM, GAM/DFP)
  • Perform fraud/spam investigations using various data sources, identify product vulnerabilities and drive anti-abuse experiments
  • Conduct complex fraud investigations and identify gaps in current defenses, explore/experiment with new signals and develop solutions for scalable enforcement
  • Identify and implement advanced machine learning techniques, as well as automated/scaled defenses

Requirements For Engineering Analyst, AdSpam Trust and Safety

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 1 year of experience in data analysis, including identifying trends, generating summary statistics, and drawing insights from quantitative and qualitative data
  • 1 year of experience managing projects and defining project scope, goals, and deliverables
  • Experience in digital advertising industry in a technical role
  • Experience in data management, metrics analysis, experiment design and automation
  • Experience working with teammates and collaborators to reverse engineer, pen testing, and develop signals against sophisticated abuse vectors
  • Demonstrate product and policy knowledge
  • Excellent quantitative skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail
