Description For Engineering Analyst, AdSpam, Trust and Safety

Google's Trust & Safety team is seeking an Engineering Analyst to join their AdSpam division, focusing on making the internet a safer place. This role combines data analysis, security, and fraud prevention to protect Google's vast ecosystem of users, advertisers, and publishers. You'll work with a diverse team of experts to fight abuse across Google's products, particularly focusing on Android ecosystem security.

As an Engineering Analyst, you'll apply advanced statistical methods to analyze abuse patterns, conduct fraud investigations, and develop solutions to prevent spam and malicious activities. The role requires collaboration with Product Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders to improve workflows, automate processes, and create robust anti-abuse systems.

The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in data analysis and project management, with the ability to identify trends and draw insights from complex data sets. Responsibilities For Engineering Analyst, AdSpam, Trust and Safety

  • Apply advanced statistical methods to data sets to analyze impact of abuse on the Android ecosystem
  • Perform fraud and spam investigations using various data sources, identify product vulnerabilities and drive anti-abuse experiments to prevent abuse
  • Work with engineers and stakeholders to improve workflows via process improvements, automation and anti-abuse system creation
  • Conduct fraud investigations using data and identify gaps in current defenses, explore/experiment with new signals and develop solutions for scalable enforcement on non-compliant publisher inventory with focus on Android
  • Work with Product, Engineering, and Trust and Safety teams to prevent abuse by changing policies and closing product loopholes

Requirements For Engineering Analyst, AdSpam, Trust and Safety

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 1 year of experience in data analysis, including identifying trends, generating summary statistics, and drawing insights from quantitative and qualitative data
  • 1 year of experience managing projects and defining project scope, goals, and deliverables
