Description For Engineering Analyst, Messages Spam and Abuse

Google's Trust & Safety team is seeking an Engineering Analyst to join their Messages Spam and Abuse division. This role combines data analysis, security, and project management to protect Google's vast user base from various forms of online abuse. You'll work with cutting-edge technology and collaborate with engineers and product managers globally to develop and implement anti-abuse solutions.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $126,000-$181,000 plus additional benefits, equity, and bonus opportunities. As part of the Trust & Safety team, you'll be at the forefront of fighting abuse across Google's products, working in over 40 languages to protect users, advertisers, and publishers worldwide.

The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, with at least 2 years of experience in data analysis and project management. You'll need proficiency in tools like SQL, Python, and potentially Golang, along with an understanding of messaging systems and fraud prevention. Responsibilities For Engineering Analyst, Messages Spam and Abuse

  • Analyze emerging trends, conduct data analysis, and identify new signals to develop solutions for scaled enforcement
  • Develop an understanding of abuse in messaging, current cross-product workflows, and available intelligence
  • Work with cross-functional teams to design and build anti-abuse protections leveraging reputation at all levels
  • Build monitoring and alerting dashboards to track abuse levels, perform quality checks to measure system/model reliability
  • Lead projects to prevent Google's infrastructure from being abuse, harm, or fraud

Requirements For Engineering Analyst, Messages Spam and Abuse

  • 2 years of experience in data analysis, including identifying trends, generating summary statistics, and drawing insights from quantitative and qualitative data
