Description For Engineering Analyst, Trust and Safety Search

Google's Trust & Safety team is seeking an Engineering Analyst to join their mission of making the internet safer. This role combines data analysis, machine learning, and content safety expertise to protect users across Google's products. You'll work with Search infrastructure and Large Language Models to develop and improve content safety evaluation systems.

As an Engineering Analyst in the Trust & Safety team, you'll be at the forefront of fighting abuse and maintaining user trust across Google's vast product ecosystem. The role requires strong analytical skills, experience with data analysis tools like SQL and Python, and the ability to work with Large Language Models for content evaluation.

Responsibilities For Engineering Analyst, Trust and Safety Search

  • Develop domain knowledge in Search infrastructure, ranking signals, and products
  • Develop rating templates for evaluating and measuring content safety working with images, videos, pages, and queries
  • Contribute to prompt-based Large Language Models that can evaluate content safety according to our product policies
  • Design and implement product metrics to benchmark user trust risks and track improvements over time
  • Create datasets for engineers to evaluate and improve sensitive content classifiers

Requirements For Engineering Analyst, Trust and Safety Search

Python
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience in data analysis, including identifying trends, generating summary statistics, and drawing insights from quantitative and qualitative data
  • Experience with data analysis (e.g., SQL, Python)
  • Experience in designing sampling approaches and using statistical analysis for product recommendations
