Description For Engineering Manager, Gemini Code Assist

Google is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead their Gemini Code Assist team in Warsaw, Poland. This is a senior leadership position combining technical expertise with people management, focusing on developing GenAI-based development tools to enhance developer productivity.

The role involves working at the intersection of artificial intelligence and software development, where you'll lead a team developing server code and middleware that interfaces with Google's latest Large Language Models (LLMs). You'll collaborate closely with researchers, engineers, and product managers from both Google Cloud AI and Google Research, working on challenging machine learning solutions that directly impact Google's product excellence.

As an Engineering Manager, you'll be responsible for managing multiple aspects of the development process, from technical leadership to team development. The position requires a strong technical background with at least 8 years of software development experience and 3 years in technical leadership. You'll be working within Google Cloud, which serves customers in more than 200 countries and territories, helping organizations digitally transform their businesses using Google's cutting-edge technology.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in programming languages such as Python, C, C++, Java, or JavaScript, combined with proven leadership abilities. You'll be expected to manage project priorities, grow the Warsaw presence, participate in design reviews, and ensure the team maintains high standards of software quality and operational excellence.

  • Help grow our presence in Warsaw, and grow and sustain a healthy and collaborative culture for the new team
  • Lead a team to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions
  • Participate in design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality
