Description For Engineering Manager, Gemini Code Assist

Google is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead their Gemini Code Assist team in Warsaw, Poland. This is a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of AI technology, specifically focusing on GenAI-based development tools to enhance developer productivity. The role combines technical leadership with people management, requiring expertise in software development and machine learning.

The position involves working closely with Google Cloud AI and Google Research teams, developing server code and middleware that interfaces with Google's latest Large Language Models (LLMs). You'll be responsible for managing and growing a team in Warsaw, while contributing to product strategy and technical direction.

As an Engineering Manager, you'll need a strong technical background with at least 8 years of software development experience and 3 years in technical leadership. The role requires expertise in programming languages such as Python, C, C++, Java, or JavaScript, and a deep understanding of machine learning solutions.

  • Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
  • Help grow our presence in Warsaw, and grow and sustain a healthy and collaborative culture for the new team
  • Lead a team to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions
  • Participate in design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality

  • Experience working in a complex, matrixed organization (preferred)
