Description For Engineering Manager, Search Verticals

Google Search is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead their Search Verticals team, specifically focusing on sports-related features. This role combines technical leadership with people management, requiring expertise in software development and team leadership. The position involves building products that help users follow their favorite sports, teams, and athletes on search, making sports information and content easily accessible.

The role demands a strong technical background with at least 8 years of software development experience and 3 years in technical leadership. You'll be working on both mature products with massive user bases and experimental prototypes, solving complex engineering challenges while maintaining Google's universally accessible search experience.

As an Engineering Manager, you'll be responsible for managing multiple teams, overseeing large-scale project deployments, and contributing to product strategy. The role involves working with various technologies including Python, Java, JavaScript, and machine learning models. You'll be part of Google's mission to reimagine information search, making an impact on billions of users globally.

The ideal candidate should have experience with Search or Knowledge Engine stack, front-end development, and infrastructure designs. A Master's or PhD in Computer Science is preferred but not required.
