Google is seeking a Front End CAD/EDA-Methodology Tool Development Engineer to join their Technical Infrastructure team. This role combines hardware expertise with software development, focusing on developing custom silicon solutions for Google's direct-to-consumer products. The position involves working with cutting-edge AI/ML techniques in chip design methodology and collaborating with the Google Deepmind team.

As a key member of the team, you'll be responsible for improving chip design processes, developing internal tools, and implementing software automation for ASIC and SoC EDA flows. Responsibilities For Front End CAD/EDA-Methodology Tool Development Engineer, Silicon

  • Partner with Google Deepmind team to incorporate AI/ML techniques in chip design methodology
  • Partner with Chip Project teams to standardize methodology across projects and functional areas
  • Propose, design, and implement software automation for ASIC and SoC EDA flow
  • Lead development of internal software tools and automation efforts
  • Work directly with hardware team on projects to improve chip hardware development process

Python
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience in ASIC Chip Design
  • 5 years of experience with hardware electronic design automation tools
  • Experience in Python/C++ programming
  • Experience in writing code and design practices
  • Knowledge of chip design processes
  • Strong programming/software skills
