Description For Global Manufacturing Partner Manager

Google's Technical Infrastructure team is seeking a Global Manufacturing Partner Manager to play a crucial role in managing relationships with Contract Manufacturers (CM) and Original Device Manufacturing (ODM) partners. This position focuses on New Product Introduction (NPI) and involves close collaboration with Product Development teams and Engineers to ensure suppliers meet cost and schedule commitments. The role encompasses development of systems and products in specific categories like Machine Learning, compute, networking, and storage.

As a key relationship owner, you'll lead cross-functional projects, handle complex supply chain challenges, and drive continuous improvement. You'll be responsible for negotiating agreements, managing CM relationships, and owning sourcing deliverables for assigned programs. The position is part of the technical supply chain team that ensures operational excellence supporting Google's growth.

The Technical Infrastructure team is fundamental to Google's product portfolio, maintaining data centers and building next-generation platforms. Responsibilities For Global Manufacturing Partner Manager

  • Develop category sourcing strategies in a given product vertical and understand the technical roadmap and industry trends that impact long-term needs
  • Define cost drivers, develop cost models, and establish cost analysis
  • Lead Request for Proposal (RFP), negotiate agreements, and the supplier selection process
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance in alignment with technology, cost, quality, and delivery drivers
  • Partner closely with stakeholders in Hardware, Manufacturing, and Test Engineering functions

Requirements For Global Manufacturing Partner Manager

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical/engineering field or equivalent practical experience
  • 4 years of experience in supplier management or sourcing
  • Experience with supplier management in the compute, storage, networking, or data center infrastructure space
