Description For Global Manufacturing Partner Manager

As a Global Manufacturing Partner Manager at Google, you will play a crucial role in negotiating, supplying, and managing global Contract Manufacturers (CM)/Original Device Manufacturing (ODM) relationships. This position focuses on New Product Introduction (NPI) and involves close collaboration with Product Development teams and Engineers to ensure suppliers meet cost and schedule commitments.

You will be responsible for systems and products development in specific categories like Machine Learning, compute, networking, and storage. Understanding Google's roadmaps and managing early CM engagements is crucial. The role involves owning sourcing deliverables, negotiations, and CM relationships for assigned programs.

Behind everything Google's users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team. From developing and maintaining data centers to building next-generation Google platforms, this team makes Google's product portfolio possible. The team takes pride in being engineers' engineers and ensures networks run optimally for the best user experience.

The position offers a competitive compensation package including a base salary range of $126,000-$181,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. The role requires leading large cross-functional projects and resolving complex supply chain issues. You'll be part of a technical supply chain team driving continuous improvement and ensuring operational excellence to support Google's rapid growth.

The ideal candidate should have strong technical background with a Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience, proven experience in supplier management, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment. Additional preferences include an MBA or Master's degree, experience with new product development, and a track record of managing CM partners for PCBA's and systems.

Responsibilities For Global Manufacturing Partner Manager

  • Develop category sourcing strategies in a given product vertical and understand the technical roadmap and industry trends that impact long-term needs
  • Define cost drivers, develop cost models, and establish cost analysis
  • Lead Request for Proposal (RFP), negotiate agreements, and the supplier selection process
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance in alignment with technology, cost, quality, and delivery drivers
  • Partner closely with stakeholders in Hardware, Manufacturing, and Test Engineering functions

Requirements For Global Manufacturing Partner Manager

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical/engineering field or equivalent practical experience
  • 4 years of experience in supplier management or sourcing
  • Experience with supplier management in the compute, storage, networking, or data center infrastructure space
