Description For Global Manufacturing Partner Manager, NPI

Google is seeking a Global Manufacturing Partner Manager for New Product Introduction (NPI) to join their Technical Infrastructure team. This role focuses on managing global Agreement Manufacturers/Original Device Manufacturing (ODM) relationships and working closely with Product Development teams and Engineers. The position involves overseeing the development of systems and products in specific categories such as Machine Learning, compute, networking, and storage.

As part of Google's technical supply chain team, you'll be responsible for ensuring operational excellence and driving improvements to support Google's rapid growth. The role requires deep involvement in new product development, supplier management, and cross-functional project leadership. You'll work behind the scenes to maintain and develop the architecture that keeps Google's vast product portfolio running smoothly.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise combined with business acumen, capable of developing sourcing strategies, managing costs, and maintaining crucial supplier relationships. Responsibilities For Global Manufacturing Partner Manager, NPI

  • Develop category sourcing strategies in a given product vertical and understand the technical roadmap and industry trends that impact needs
  • Define cost motivators, develop cost models, and establish cost analysis
  • Lead Request for Proposal (RFP), discuss agreements, and the supplier selection process
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance in alignment with technology, cost, quality, and delivery drivers
  • Partner with stakeholders in Hardware, Manufacturing, and Test Engineering functions

Requirements For Global Manufacturing Partner Manager, NPI

  • Bachelor's degree in a Technical, Engineering field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in supplier management or sourcing
  • Experience in supplier management in the compute, storage, networking, or data center infrastructure space
  • Master's degree in Business Administration in a Technical or Engineering field (preferred)
  • Experience in managing Agreement Manufacturers partners for Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA's) and systems including cost models (preferred)
  • Experience with new product development environments (preferred)
  • Experience in leading new business selection decisions (preferred)
  • Ability to manage suppliers in New Product Introduction (NPI) and sustaining environments (preferred)
