Google is seeking a Global Transportation Operations Manager to lead and optimize their worldwide transportation operations for their Technical Infrastructure team. This role combines strategic planning with hands-on operational management, focusing on enhancing customer experience while driving efficient transit at reduced costs. The position involves managing all transportation activities, from international air and ocean freight to domestic transportation, ensuring optimal performance across Google's global supply chain network.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in supply chain, manufacturing, and transportation industries, with a strong background in people management. They will be responsible for developing and executing both short and long-term transportation strategies, particularly for component inbound freight and finished goods shipments to data centers. Responsibilities For Global Transportation Operations Manager
- Drive accountability of transportation network performance through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and trending analytics
- Track, monitor, and identify opportunities to improve customer experience while optimizing expenses
- Develop, plan, and execute the short- and long-term transportation strategic direction and subsequent transportation initiatives
- Serve as the global transportation process and systems subject matter expert
- Develop and implement programs, including creating and maintaining process improvement roadmap, project plan, business case/cost benefit tracker, training and communication plan
Requirements For Global Transportation Operations Manager
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- 10 years of experience in supply chain and manufacturing, and with technical hardware
- 8 years of experience in Transportation industry (i.e., Air, Sea, Express, Rail, Truck, etc.)
- 5 years of experience in people management
- Master's degree or equivalent practical experience (preferred)
- 12 years of experience managing hardware supply chain (preferred)
- 8 years of experience in agreement facilitation and supplier performance management (preferred)
- Ability to work, influence, and resolve conflicts cross-functionally with internal/external partners (preferred)
