Google is seeking a Global Transportation Operations Manager to lead and execute strategic global transportation operations. This role is crucial in enhancing customer experience and driving efficient transit while managing costs. The position involves overseeing all transportation activities, from international air and ocean freight to domestic transportation within regions, managing the flow from suppliers to data center facilities.
The role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in supply chain, manufacturing, and transportation industries. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills with 5+ years of people management experience and the ability to work cross-functionally with various stakeholders.
As part of Google's Technical Infrastructure team, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the architecture that powers Google's product portfolio. The position offers a competitive compensation package including a base salary range of $156,000-$234,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits.
Key responsibilities include developing and executing transportation strategies, managing KPIs and analytics, optimizing customer experience and expenses, and serving as a subject matter expert in global transportation processes and systems. You'll work closely with third-party logistics, IT teams, and cross-functional partners to implement and maintain improvement programs.

Responsibilities For Global Transportation Operations Manager
- Drive accountability of transportation network performance through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and trending analytics
- Track, monitor, and identify opportunities to improve customer experience while optimizing expenses
- Develop, plan, and execute the short- and long-term transportation strategic direction and subsequent transportation initiatives
- Serve as the global transportation process and systems subject matter expert
- Develop and implement programs, including creating and maintaining process improvement roadmap, project plan, business case/cost benefit tracker, training and communication plan
Requirements For Global Transportation Operations Manager
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- 10 years of experience in supply chain and manufacturing, and with technical hardware
- 8 years of experience in Transportation industry (i.e., Air, Sea, Express, Rail, Truck, etc.)
- 5 years of experience in people management
- Master's degree or equivalent practical experience (preferred)
- 12 years of experience managing hardware supply chain (preferred)
- 8 years of experience in agreement facilitation and supplier performance management (preferred)
- Ability to work, influence, and resolve conflicts cross-functionally with internal/external partners (preferred)
