Description For Gmail Mobile Performance Engineer

Google is seeking a Gmail Mobile Performance Engineer to join their team. This role is part of Google's software engineering division, focusing on developing next-generation technologies that impact billions of users. The position involves working on Gmail, one of Google's flagship products, with a specific focus on mobile performance.

As a Gmail Mobile Performance Engineer, you'll be part of a team covering various areas of client infrastructure, including Experimentation and Instrumentation, Performance, Multiplatform (Shared), and Client modernization (iOS, Android, Web). You'll have the opportunity to impact one of the most used products in the world and contribute to Gmail's long-term architecture to secure its future success as part of Google Workspace.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Writing product or system development code
  • Participating in or leading design reviews
  • Reviewing code developed by other developers
  • Triaging product or system issues
  • Working on iOS performance, cross-platform investments, performance advocacy, and technical innovation

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in software development, data structures, algorithms, and mobile development, with a focus on iOS applications and performance. Experience with logging, monitoring, and application development is preferred.

Requirements For Gmail Mobile Performance Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms
  • Experience with Mobile Development, iOS Applications, and Performance
